Holy Week

Holy Week
These days set aside to remind us of:
Who we are,
Where we belong,
When it is…the past yet the present,
What our mission is,
Why we love and have life,
and How our lives changed
because of Christ.

Hosanna! We will shout,
Messiah we will claim,
We will stay in crowd,
We simply wave our palms and shout.

Do we believe?
Can we follow?
Are we willing to lay down our life?
God’s great mercy out-poured for us.

Crucify Him! will be yelled,
Anger and fear will seize the day,
What has happened? What has changed?
Our Christ dead on a tree.

Silence fills each moment,
A heaviness has settled in,
Yet a hope seems to be present in us,
Yet the tomb is sealed shut.

Our salvation story is told,
Not old news but our story fills our ears,
We gather in the darkness,
The light breaks in… this is the night.

We hear the news, He is Risen!
The tomb is empty!
Our Lord lives.
Hope is bursting out in new life!

This is the rhythm of Holy Week,
Each part of it calls to us,
We are invited to take part,
Where will we be for this encounter?
How will we enter into the Mystery that is our new life?

This encounter, this Mystery is...
The Story of Christ,
The Story of Us,

The Story of Love, Salvation and Life.

Blessings to you through the journey of Holy Week.
